Easter 2025

The menu of Easter 2025 was in a tea party style: my usual chickies (deviled eggs), white asparagus soup, coronation chicken sandwiches and ham-cheese-tomato-lettuce sandwiches, followed by charming petit fours from Gmeiner, the Black Forest region-based confectionery.

Four chickies were in a meeting while waiting for their turn... 


The store of Gmeiner in the town center was an ideal destination for shopping special treats for Easter. In addition to the petite fours, we welcomed our first Osterlamm along with Easter egg and bunny chocolates this year. Osterlamm is a German Easter cake that is traditionally baked in a lamb shape mold. Gmeiner offered two kinds of Osterlamm. One was sandkuchen, German version of pound cake, buttery but light, dusted with powder sugar and flavored with lemon. I believe that is the classic Osterlamm. The other was Finnischer Nusskuchen, Finish style nut cake. We invited each home. They were so cute! 



It was a lovely Easter with a lot of sweets as usual.
