Breakfast at Miss Shirley's
We had a breakfast with my brother at Miss Shirley's Cafe in Annapolis.
It was J's wonderful idea to take my brother there to have a nice breakfast before he goes back to his working site. There are quite few places around our place to have a decent breakfast during weekdays. Miss Shirley's could be the best option we have. When we go to the place, I always need to tackle a tough question: savory or sweet? This time I was for sweet. Breakfast Banana Split - Greek vanilla yogurt with a whole banana, raspberries, blueberries, and pineapple, topped with house-made granola with nuts. Why haven't I discovered this until now!? Their other sweet breakfast options like pancake are sometimes too much, too sugary, less fruits. But this was light, refreshing, perfect. I hope they will keep it in their menu.
Of course, J was for savory. Of course, he ordered Eddie's Beef'N Eggs - 5 oz beef tenderloin center cut filet on fried green tomatoes, two eggs (over easy), and his choice of grits. And a couple of toasted bread. The steak was petite, which he seemed to be surprised at the size although he have ordered this dish at least a couple of times before. But still there were a lot on the plate. Ultimately he got full. My brother had crab cake & fried green tomato eggs Benedict with toasted corn and tomato relish. He liked it, especially his first fried green tomato although the relish seemed a little too spicy for him. Overall we all were satisfied very much and thought we won't need lunch or dinner on the day.
