Dyls in York
It was a mid-September weekend morning. We jumped on a train to York for brunch. A restaurant we were going to try was unfortunately temporary closed, so J quickly searched an alternative and found Dyls. It was a cafe/bar housed in a historical bridge motor house. It looked like a part of medieval castle!
Inside of the tower, there were a couple of little compartments for seating. We chose a room with the little window overlooking the river Ouse.
I think that J had Homemade Spicy Lentil Shakshuka - spiced tomatoes, roasted eggplant & zucchini.
W/Crumbled feta, fried eggs and sourdough. I remember he enjoyed the dish.
My dish was Homemade Cinnamon Brioche French Toast with mixed berries, served with vanilla mascarpone and maple syrup. It was fine.
The cafe/bar had a riverside terrace. It was a chilly morning with a crisp autumn air. It would be lovely to sit there and enjoy food and drink during summer time.
After the nice brunch, we took a walk toward the city center and realized that the cafe/bar was very close to the Clifford's Tower. We are getting to know York more and more.
