Shrimp & Macaroni Gratin 2.0
Shrimp and macaroni gratin again! This time I used a pinch of celery seeds. A recipe by a professional chef that I recently saw online called for fresh minced celery for shrimp and macaroni gratin. According to the chef, celery adds aroma and depth to Béchamel sauce. It sounded interesting and I wanted to try and see the effects. However, celery is not a veggie that I always keep in the refrigerator and I didn't want to buy a stalk of celery. I would need just a short rib of celery. My solution was to replace fresh celery with celery seeds. In this case, I think it worked and I liked the hint of celery flavor, which made the gratin more complex and savory. I have achieved Version 2.0!
