Summer Vegetable Gratin

This was summer vegetable gratin.

It's a summer squash season. I bought two zucchini and a yellow squash at a grocery store because they looked fresh and nice. I wasn't sure what I should do with them, and timely found a recipe of Summer Vegetable Gratin from Cooks Illustrated that called for a lot of summer squash.
I was sure cheesy crispy bread crumble topping would make J happy. This recipe was great to use our garden herbs: thyme and basil. Served with a bowl of green & cucumber salad, the dinner was veggie paradise.
