Penne with Meatless Meatballs in Marinara Sauce

This was penne with meatless meatballs in homemade Marinara sauce.

I adapted a recipe of meatless meatballs by Chef John that I found online. The meatballs were wonderful - really meaty! Well-browned mushrooms and oatmeal created the illusion. The meatballs with garlicky and cheesy punches, simmered in homemade Marinara sauce, were the complete Italian-American favorite dish.

I am glad J has approved the fake meatballs! If both taste and texture were right, who really cares whether with or without meat?
