Vin 909
We had a lunch at Vin 909 a wine cafe in Annapolis, MD.
The cafe opens at 12 o'clock for lunch. We arrived there before 8 minutes. Several people had been waiting around the entrance already. And more people were coming and making a line behind us. We secured a table and more people were coming in and quickly filled almost all of the tables until we placed an order for our drinks. I know this place has been highly rated on Yelp and Zagat; yet it's a lunch time during the middle of weekdays. I was surprised how popular the cafe was!
We ordered one of their brick oven baked pizzas called the Spotted Pig - Alps spicy soppressata, wild boar meatballs, tomato sauce, mozzarella, basil and provolone. The dough was thin, crispy and tasty. Toppings were fine too. The size was quite generous for two of us to share. We also ordered Roseda Farm sliders - all-natural dry aged Roseda Farm beef, basil almond pesto, paprika-zinfandel aioli, fresh mozzarella and arugula. The slider was juicy and tasty with the condiments. By the way, Roseda Farm is a Maryland local farm where carefully breed and naturally feed and dry age their black Angus for outstanding flavor and tenderness. It's good of the cafe to support a local honest farmer. The cafe's menu was mainly a light supper-kind of foods. It's a wine cafe anyway, where people enjoy drinking over some foods. Still they provides good choices of dishes for people like me who don't drink. J seemed to enjoy this first visit. We will come back to the cafe sometime in the near future so that we will try their Margherita pizza and desserts having a seat at the open kitchen-faced bar table. Yes, we have a specific future plan.
