Filomena Ristorante

We checked out Filomena Ristrante, a famous old Italian restaurant in Georgetown, DC, with our friends, Mr&Mrs T. I was interested in the restaurant after I saw the Travel Channel featuring there as one of the restaurants that serve the best pasta in the US. My dream came true.
RIGATONI CON SALSICCEWhole Link Italian Sausage pieces made daily here in our kitchen with Mushrooms, Onions, Ground Italian Sausage, Chianti Wine & Herbs and Vine Ripe Marinara Sauce. Served with Rigatoni Pasta.
According to the restaurant, when Bono of U2 ate this pasta dish at the restaurant, he ordered seconds. Interesting. J and I shared the dish and enjoyed it very much although we were too full to order seconds...
CANNELLONI FRUTTI DI MARE
Shrimp, Crabmeat, Scallops, Mozzarella, Parmigiana & Ricotta Cheeses blended and stuffed into Black Pasta sheets, rolled and oven baked. Covered with our Famous Creamy Cardinale Lobster Sauce.
J and I shared this dish too. Pasta was delicate, generous seafood had nice texture, and the sauce was wonderful.

Even though our waiter suggested desserts to us, we were too full to eat anymore and left the restaurant. However, in the late afternoon of the day, our vivid memory of their massive dessert menu urged us to come back there. Funny enough, the same waiter served us again, welcoming us back. He was very attentive and friendly.
Macadamia Nut White Chocolate Mousse
Chocolate Caramel Eclair
J and I shared these two desserts. They were huge and sweet! No doubt we were very satisfied with the full Italian meal.
At the entrance door, their famous "Pasta Mama" was making gnocchi and smiling at us. This was a big bonus! By the way, the restaurant was full of Easter bunnies, literately everywhere. According to our waiter, there were about 70 bunnies. Those bunnies would be gone the next day of our visit until next year. Luckily we were able to say hello to the bunnies. It was another bonus.
