Ching Ching CHA

We had a peaceful tea time at Ching Ching CHA at Georgetown, Washington D.C.

It's a Chinese tea house where you can enjoy various Chinese tea in the traditional Chinese tea ceremony style. J and I ordered Orchid Oolong. The tea was served with a set of a cute miniature-size teawares: a teapot, a pitcher, a sent cup to sniff, and a tea cup to drink. The hot water was kept in a heavy kettle on the table. Our waiter kindly told us how to make the tea. There were several steps to reach the time to actually drink the tea. It was the way to appreciate and enjoy the entire tea experience. And it was so fun! The tea was delicate floral sent with pleasant aftertaste.  

The tea house, located very close to busy M street, was surprisingly quiet and calm with a lot of natural sunlight through the sky lights. Just tea and us.
