Lovecrumbs in Edinburgh
Having cake and hot tea was a wise idea after we exposed strong wind and cold rain in the morning of our third day in Edinburgh. We were at a cafe called Lovecrumbs. The cake that we shared was parsnip and hazelnut cake. It might sound unusual, but it was just like a cousin of carrot cake with walnuts. Moist, yum, yum. I had mint tea and J also had a kind of herb tea.
The cafe was bright and relaxed. We stayed for a while to dry our jackets and charge ourselves to the next adventure.
What we did in the morning was visiting Edinburgh Castle. The historic fortress currently houses several buildings that have been converted into museums. Although the weather wasn't friendly, we were able to escape from rain and wind while we were in those museums and learning the history of Scotland and Scottish monarchs, which can't separate from a series of wars.
At the end of our castle tour, clouds broke up. Still it was so windy, slightly raining and pretty cold, which was why we rushed to Lovecrumbs once we got out of the castle gate. At that time, I didn't know what we were going to do in the afternoon. To be continued...
