"Daikon" Party
I was so excited when I bought a whole Daikon (Japanese radish) at an Asian grocery store in Leeds. What should I make with the precious root vegetable? I thought about it deeply... and decided to make two dishes. One was chicken thighs simmered in soy sauce-based savory sauce and grated Daikon. The other was poached Daikon topped with sweet Miso sauce. I added seaweed and octopus salad. Served with simple steamed Japanese-style short grain sticky rice, the dinner was so Japanese and super delicious!
