Croatia 1 - Split 1
It was a great opportunity for us to visit Croatia before Christmas. We landed in Split, a major city on the Adriatic coast in the afternoon. After leaving the luggage at Airbnb, we looked for a place to eat in the Old Town. We immediately liked the warm air and the blue sky!
It was Sunday afternoon. The Old Town was pretty much quiet. Almost all of the shops were closed but some restaurants were open. Restoran Apetit was one of them.
We tried Codfish with Homemade Gnocchi as well as Tonnarelle Pasta with Prawn, Porcini mushrooms and Truffles. Both were tasty but a little bit too salty for me.
We walked in the Old Town for a while after the nice dinner. It was already getting darker around 4pm.
An ice-skating rink and a bar were set up at the Plaza de la República, a 19th-century neo-Renaissance/Venetian square. Both kids and adults could enjoy themselves there.
We stopped by a pastry shop for dessert. The cake I chose was so-so while a cup of herbal tea was lovely. It was helpful for a good night's sleep.
To be continued...
