Shiitake Gohan
This was Shiitake Gohan, or seasoned rice with Shiitake mushroom
Takikomi Gohan, seasoned rice with "something" is one of my favorite Japanese rice dishes. I haven't made any for a long time. While I have several different recipes in hand, I adapted a new recipe that I found on Japanese recipe portal, Cookpad for this time. The recipe has been tried by more than 3,000 people and it seems that many like the recipe and even repeat cooking it. Chicken and/or fried Tofu was optional, but instead I added carrot along with Shiitake mushroom to add volume, color and extra veggie. The result was good, but stronger soy sauce taste than my usual Takikoki Gohan. I guess many people like bold soy sauce (salty) flavor. Next time I will reduce soy sauce.
