Liverpool 1 - Street Food Markets

We took a train to Liverpool and stayed there through the weekend before Christmas. One thing we found in Liverpool was that indoor street food markets seem popular. Duke Street Food & Drink Market was one of indoor street food markets we checked out. The market housed six various vendors (kitchens) as well as a restaurant on the second floor. The dining area was bright and neat.

J had a grilled mushroom and halloumi sandwich from Finga, a Cuban street food vendor. I believe that it was the best food during the trip for him. I tried mushroom ramen from Ginger, an Asian bowl food vendor. Well, it wasn't really Japanese-style ramen. The noodles (maybe and soup, too) were vinegary, flavored with sesame oil. The noodle bowl was strange to me, but lots of mushrooms and other veggies on top made me happy.

The other street food market we visited was Baltic Market. It was a rough and industrial space. We didn't eat any there but just had a couple of coffee for take-away. The young guy at the coffee stand was very friendly and polite. My pumpkin latte was pretty good.

A Christmas market at St George's Plateau near Lime Street Train Station was a kind of street food market. A Polish food vendor was cooking Kartofelki, Polish potato dish cooked with onions, peppers, bacon, sausages, spring onions and mix herbs, in huge pans. It looked nice enough to convince us to buy one bowl for each, which became our dinner. It tasted pretty good and very filling.
