More from Bakeri Balzersen
I don't remember how many home delivery orders I have placed with Baltzersen's bakery, Bakeri Balzersen so far. I certainly remember that each order made me very happy. The bakery introduced their first Spandauer, a traditional danish pastry, well, "a Denish" a few weeks ago, and luckily we got one! A flaky, buttery pastry filled with custard cream, frangipane and jam (raspberry?) and topped with sugar icing and almond slices. It's immaculate. Unfortunately Spandauer is not a regular item. That's sad but I have a backup - their almond croissant that is regular. I am a big fan of almond croissant. The bakery's almond croissant could be the best of total dozens that I have ever had in the US and Europe.
I'm glad to see the bakery added Skolebrød on their online menu some weeks ago that I used to buy sometimes at their cafe and has been my favorite in the cafe's pastry/dessert options. Somehow their Skolebrød has become bigger than one they sell in the cafe, which I don't mind at all.
I added the bakery's famous cinnamon buns in our recent order. I like the idea of cinnamon buns although the bakery's version is a little bit too sweet for my taste. I wish I could have one without the icing or at least I could choose the amount of the icing. By the way, the cinnamon buns I received looked bigger than they used to be, though. It's only my imagination?
Anyhow we will place another order sometime very soon!
