Chicken Cottage Pie

When I was making chicken pot pie, I made a little change. Instead of a pie dough, I made mashed potato for the top. Less prep time and less butter/fat. I was pretty sure that mashed potato top would be a delicious pair of the chicken filling so was the pie version. So, why not?  

The filling was the same as one in my usual chicken pot pie without pea. I added a lot of our window-garden fresh thyme. Because of the mashed potato top, I would call the dish chicken cottage pie. We are in England. It's very proper!
