Homemade Filet-O-Fish, again


I asked J how he would like to eat crusted cod that I bought from Waitrose. J's answer was homemade Filet-O-Fish again. I had cheese, tomato and green leaves. Good! I knew I didn't have fresh dill, but I made tartar sauce without dill before and found out that French cornichons (sour gherkins) was the key of tartar sauce. When the time to make tartar sauce came, I couldn't find a jar of cornichons in the kitchen. Did I use cornichons up last time? Maybe. Did J snack them? Possible. After all, I made tartar sauce without cournichons as well as fresh dill. I added extra capers. Surprisingly the result was fine. It was just like tartar. Perhaps capers were the key.
