Kotobuki
We had a lovely lunch with our friend Mr. & Mrs. T at Kotobuki, a Japanese sushi restaurant in Washington, D.C.
It was the first time for us to try the restaurant. While the restaurant's main dishes are a wide variety of sushi, they serve Kama-meshi, a steamed flavored rice cooked a metal pot, or "Kama." I guess this restaurant is the only place to service Kama-meshi in the D.C. metro area. So J and I ordered Kama-meshi instead of sushi.
Kama-mashi came along with four small side dishes. Each of them was traditional Japanese dishes. We liked all. There were the three kinds of Kama-meshi. I tried vegetable, or "Sansai" Kama-meshi. J had chicken. We enjoyed it very much.
Although we didn't try sushi, we ordered assorted Sashimi as our side dish, which was pretty good too.
The place was a small place and seemed popular. All tables were quickly filled just after they opened for lunch.
