Project Coconut - Phase 1: Coconut Water
J picked up one fresh coconut at Wegmans. That was the beginning of our Project Coconut.
Phase 1 was about coconut water. We thought we would enjoy a glass of chilled fresh coconut water in the morning. This was our subject. It had a slit all way around to promise easy cracking.
First J opened two holes and poured coconut water inside out. It wasn't much water though. It could fill a half of two small glasses. Then, crack, crack, crack.
It seemed easy. The inside was beautiful coconut meat. While we were thinking of what we could do with the meat, we quickly chilled the coconut water and tried it with a ham and cheese croissant that J kindly brought from Bonaparte.
The coconut water was... well, the first adjective that came up in my mind was perfumery. Coconut water is said to be low in calories and rich in potassium. Good for us! But it was a little oily with the unique taste. Just a half of the glass satisfied me and I guess J too.
