Saint Michel Bakery
It was our first time to visit the French bakery. They were supposed to serve real French bread made with real French flour according to yelp reviews. We arrived there around 1pm. That was apparently wrong time to visit bakery that had been open from 8 am on the day. Their showcase was almost empty! We were told we should be there around 8 am to secure varieties of their freshly baked goods. Oh well, we did our best to pick up as many kinds of pastries as possible: raisin, apple, and chocolate. We lightly reheated them next morning and shared each. We thought they were pretty good. They were light and delicate, not greasy or sugary or heavy although J said my homemade breads were better. What a sweet compliment! Also he pointed out our local French bakery Bonaparte's is as good as theirs and much closer to visit. That's true. Thus we probably won't make a special trip to Saint Michel Bakery but it would be nice to remember there is a decent little French bakery in Rockville.
