Iri-Tofu
This was Iri-Tofu on rice.
It's a traditional Japanese Tofu dish. "Iri" means scorching in this context. So, it's scorched Tofu with other ingredients - I added onion, carrots, and dried Shiitake mushrooms. First, scorch all. Second, simmer with Japanese soup stock, soy sauce, Sake and Mirin. Then, finishing, add egg and cook together. Garnishing with scallion and toasted sesames, it's ready to eat!
Probably it's served with rice in Japan, not directly on rice as I did. I like my way. My Iri-Tofu was wonderful! It tasted just like a typical Japanese dish. J was very quiet during the dinner, thought. What did it mean? Perhaps I won't seek an answer.
