Maison Kayser in NYC
We had a breakfast at Maison Kayser in Upper East Side in NYC.
The born-in-Paris-now-international chain bakery somewhat got the top rated breakfast/brunch place on Yelp around Upper East Side, Middle East & West areas. There are currently only three locations in the US and all are in NY. At least the bakery was new for us who live in the DC area. (I didn't know there are 25 locations in Japan, mainly in Tokyo!)
We started with croissant. Actually pretty good! Buttery flaky. It came with butter, orange marmalade and Nutella, but plain croissant was enjoyable.
And smoked salmon and two soft eggs. Surprisingly the smoked salmon was pretty good!! Thick-cut, meaty, fresh taste. Warm soft eggs were good for a chilly morning. I don't remember when was the last time I had soft eggs in egg stands?
There were so many beautiful cakes and baked goods too, which I didn't have a chance to try.

Dear Monsieur Eric Kayser, please open a bakery in DC!
