Cookie Tasting - Date Filled Cookies

When I go to a Middle Eastern market, I like to pick up some date filled cookies like this Ma'amoul, Lebanese shortbread cookies with date filling. Sweet, chewy date filling in rich sandy cookie.

The latest data filled cookies I bought was Koloocheh, Persian cookie made in various parts of Iran.

These were more sandy and light cookie. The filling was a little dry. I liked them as much as Ma'amoul. I guess different brand taste different too. Maybe I can make my own date filled cookies. Why not?
