Toft Gate Barn Cafe in Pateley Bridge
When we were walking and browsing shops in Pateley Bridge, A lady at a small art gallery kindly gave us several recommendations about where to eat for lunch. We tried one of them, which was a barn cafe called Toft Gate Barn Cafe. We drove to the cafe, which was on a hill. I had roasted pepper quiche and J had ham sandwich, I think. The lunch platter came with salad, slaw and beet relish.
We had a table at their backyard. The weather was beautiful, the food was lovely and the view from our table was was spectacular!
The cafe offers several cake and baked goods, which made me very excited. We took a slice of bakewell cake back home for the afternoon tea.
Before heading back home, we climbed up to the top of hill to see Coldstones Cut (quarry) near the cafe. We drove up to the bottom of the hill and took a walk to the view point. It was a very good (harder than I thought) exercise after lunch.

Who could think a massive active quarry is hidden in the middle of endless green pasture with countless peaceful sheep? At least I couldn't. From Brimham Rocks to the quarry, the day was full of surprises.
