Cheese from Northumberland

Another treat that we brought back home from Northumberland was cheese! We bought four kinds of cheese at The Cheese Room in Alnwick. From above,

Brie de Weardale - a creamy, semi-soft, white rinded cheese, hand-made in Weardale in County Durham.

Doddington Dairy's Cuddys Cave - a mellow and succulent "Dales style" cheese with smooth texture

Doddington Dairy's Berwick Edge - robust and full flavored Gouda style cheese with undertones of pineapple and spice

Cotherstone - moist and crumbly cheese with fresh, lemony, lactic and a slightly yeasty, delicate flavors cheese, named after a village and parish in County Durham

All cheeses were delightful. Each was different from others; the cheese platter was enjoyable! My favorite was Cotherstone. It was a cheese that we bought and made breakfast sandwich with during our trip. It melt beautifully. My second favorite would be Brie de Weardale. It was a lovely brie indeed!
