Chicken Provençal on Rice Pilaf
This was Chicken Provençal on Rice Pilaf.
We have been enjoying using our slow cooker. There are still more recipes in the slow cooking book we have. This was the latest dish made with slow cooker. We had never had Chicken Provençal before. Apparently the Southern French cuisine typically has tomatoes and olives, the common ingredients in the region. Some herbs like thyme and basil seem to be usually found in recipes. The recipe we adapted from the book called for fresh or dried oregano and as garnish fresh parsley. There was no uncommon ingredients, but one thing surprised me a bit: 12 garlic cloves. It must be so garlicky!
Yes, it was. Funny, J and I both thought the dish tasted very familiar, yes, just like my Puttanesca sauce. Chicken cooked in Puttanesca sauce without anchovies, served with rice instead of pasta. It was exactly like that.
