Christmas Orange Black Tea & Tea Truffles from Mariage Frères
This was one of Mariage Frères's new flavored black tea, "Christmas Orange."
We have been a big fan of sophisticated tea from the French tea company. I received their news letter before Christmas and learned their new products. One of them was Christmas Orange. The tea is nested in a "flamboyant" orange-golden canister. We haven't had tea with orange flavor. J expressed an interest into it, which was a moment I included the tea in my list of Christmas gifts to J.
The canister was sincerely gorgeous. Opening the canister was almost like a ritual. What really amused us was little gold and silver stars along with orange peels in the tea! How charming! The color of the tea was golden orange. It has a sweet orange flavor with warm festive spiciness. A cup of such a pleasant tea made our holiday season golden bright!
While I was shopping the tea on Mariage Frères's website, their chocolate truffles flavored with their signature tea caught my eye. I immediately thought that would be a lovely addition to the tea and hopefully surprise J! I picked two flavors. One was Esprit de Noël tea and its spices, orange zests and vanilla. Esprit de Noël has been our christmas tea for a couple of years by now. The other was Marco Polo tea, one of our long-time favorite tea. The former dressed with golden glitters and the latter with silver glitters. They looked beautiful and tasted, yes, like the tea! It was so fun to enjoy our favorite teas in a chocolate truffle style. Merci, Mariage Frères!
