Legendary Beans & Rice
We used to make beans and rice very often. It had been one of our weekday dinner staples. Then we haven't made it for years. Why not? Most likely J simply got tried of it. So the dish has become a legend. This day I popped a suggestion about a dinner option: "how about beans and rice?" with strong expectation I would hear him saying Nope. Surprisingly, he didn't rise an objection. Well, he didn't show me a happy dance either, but he was ready to meet our beans and rice again! The original was simply beans and rice. Later I started adding diced green peppers. This time I added celery as well as diced green peppers. It was pretty good! J didn't make any comment. I wonder when the next beans and rice day will arrive.
