Apple crisp or crumble is a wonderful solution when I don't have a taste of egg-rich cake or butter-rich pie/tart but still would like something sweet. This time I adapted a
recipe from King Arthur Flour so that I could use my boiled cider. I reduced the amount of brown sugar from both the filling and the topping. I also reduced butter from the topping. On the other hand, I added some dried cherries into the filling.
It was delicious! The combination of apples and dried cherries that nicely rehydrated with apple juice was truly enjoyable. Of course, whipped cream was a bonus.
