Italian sausage and mushroom was
another new flavor of Rao's pasta sauce that we found recently. Certainly we thought it was new. However, my blog has proved that we were wrong. There was a
post about the sauce in 2013! Wait. The sauce is marked as "new" on Rao's official website now, and the grocery store shelf has a tag of "new" for the sauce. What's going on?!
Apparently the sauce had been released once and disappeared at some point in the past. Anyway, I didn't remember that we had the sauce before and didn't realize that the sauce had been gone. Therefore, the sauce was kinda new for us. In the jar, there were generous chunky mushrooms and sausages along with tomato sauce that tasted bright. The sauce was bold and meaty and but not heavy at all. It had a hint of heat, which J didn't notice. Cayenne pepper wasn't on the ingredient list, though. I suspect the term "spices" of the sausage ingredients. We liked the sauce very much and will keep a couple of jars in the pantry. We won't forget about the sauce this time.
