Blackened Tuna Steak

This was blackened Tuna Steak with pan-sauteed sugar snap peas.

We picked up beautiful tuna steaks at Wegmans and wondered how we shall cook them. J mixed spices and herbs like sweet paprika, cumin, black pepper, oregano, onion, garlic, etc, something like Cajun style spice rub. I quickly seared each side of tuna and finished them in the 400 F oven for 5 min.
Well, I guess 5 minutes were too long. Our tuna was mostly cooked with a very little tender pink spot in the center of steaks. Surely the tuna would pass FDA's food safety test. On the other hand, J's spice mix was nice. Lessons learned: less cooking time next time.
