Bettys' Yorkshire Tea Loaf

Yorkshire Tea Loaf is a Bettys classic that has been around for more than 30 years. We have had the Bettys "favorite" at least twice so far. Moist, light and crumbly cake, packed with "cherries and vine fruits (currants, raisins, sultanas to be precise) steeped in Yorkshire Tea" generously. Unlike a Christmas fruit cake, it's not spicy although there must be a tiny bit something in the cake since "mixed spices" is included at the almost end of the ingredient list.     

The cake itself looks fairly plain. Such a comfort and refined "tea friend" doesn't need any frills.
