We had a belated joint birthday party with our friend T&M at a Belgian restaurant, Mannequin Pis.
When we come here, we can't go home without having a mussel pot served with
Pommes Friets. Of course, with a little cup of mayo. Seventeen various flavors of mussel pots are on the menu, plus they have today's special pot too. We tried
Snob - Celery, Onions, Herbs, Lobster Bisque, Garlic, Brandy. It was pretty tasty!
This was my entree, "Pan Seared Bacon Wrapped Whole Trout with Roasted Fingerling Potatoes in Creamy Saffron Caper Sauce." I was very glad to order this dish. Fish was nicely cooked and the sauce was delicate. Actually my favorite was roasted potatoes which inside was very creamy and delicious with the sauce.
J ordered Brussel Sprouts with Bacon as a side. That was a brilliant choice. I wish I had a recipe for it.
We were the first guests at the evening. Soon all tables in this little cozy restaurant were quickly full and the place became lively. It was a lovely dinner with plenty of great food and conversations.
