Lyon, France 6 - Christmas Market & more

We were back to Lyon from Dijon. We arrived at Gare de la Part-Dieu, the primary railway station in Lyon's Central Business District, it was already after 2pm. We missed lunch serving time as usual. That was ok because I was able to take J to a bakery that I was interested in. Boulangerie Saint Paul, located in Old Town of Lyon, offers sweets and savory. We bought sandwiches: St Marcellin & Noix for me; Jambon serrano & raclette for J. St Marcellin is one of special local cheeses. It was a lovely smooth-creamy cheese. We also shared a fig tart. It was so good!

The weather was lovely. We enjoyed the quick lunch outside of the bakery. We walked in the old town, did some shopping and headed to the center of Lyon.

Luckily Lyon's Christmas market was just opened a few days ago, offering sweets, cheese, sausages, mulled wine, crafts, etc...

There was a vendor of chocolate-coated marshmallows, called tête de choco (chocolate heads) in France. They looked like what we had at a Christmas market in Verona, Italy last year, which was a white chocolate covered, strawberry-flavored marshmallow. I thought it would be interesting to compare one here with one in Italy. We tried a white chocolate covered honey flavored marshmallow. It was so fluffy, melt-in-mouth, and tasty! We agreed that this one was nicer than one we had in Italy.
