Pork Steaks with Charcutière sauce
Pork shoulder steaks with Charcutière sauce was our weekday dinner recently. The French sauce, which was invented in the 19th century, was new for me. The basic ingredients are onions, mustard, white wine, and chopped cornichons. The recipe I found called for fresh tomatoes, too. In France, Charcutière means cooked pork meats and other products made from pork, such as bacon, ham, sausages, etc and also pork butcher shops. The combination of the pork steaks and the pork butcher's special sauce for pork was so good, of course. How couldn't it be?!
