An-man (Steamed buns with sweeten Azuki)
These were An-man, or Steamed buns filled with sweeten "Azuki" red beans.
I like steamed buns. They are fluffy, chewy, yeasty, especially when you eat a bun that just came out from the steamer, heavenly soft and steamy hot! Filling, in this case, Azuki, so-called "An" is also steamy hot, brightly sweet and almost melting, perfectly matching fluffy buns.
Dreaming the moment, I made these cute An-man. Yes, the dream came true! Generally An-man is known as winter sweets in Japan, but I enjoyed grabbing some hot buns from the steamer on this summer day.
