Chicken Bouillabaisse
This was Chicken Bouillabaisse.
It was our second dish made with our new slow cooker. Like the first dish, J cooked again! This time I participated in the process just a little bit like cutting vegetables but he was the executive chef. This dish called for multiple anise/fennel flavored ingredients, which was new for us. Also Bouillabaisse with chicken, not seafood was new for us! The recipe was again from our America's Test Kitchen's slow cooker cooking book. I liked the recipe that skipped a process of browning chicken, which could make the stove top oily messy.
Slow cooker cooking time was 5 hours. Then, J shredded chicken and put them back in the slow cooker and heated throughly. Mixed with fresh tarragon and served with J's special toasted garlic bread. Wow, it was hearty tasty chicken soup! Rustic chicken nicely married aromatic anise/fennel and saffron flavors. Bravo, another great dish, J!
