Fish Meals at Home in Japan
During my stay in Japan, one of my missions was to enjoy fish!
First fish I asked my mother for was Sanma, or Mackerel Pike. It was a "must" in fall. Fresh Sashimi of red snapper and tuna was for another dinner.
Katsuo no Tataki, or lightly seared bonito is one of my favorite fish dishes.
Vinegar-marinated Tubasu, or yellowtail snapper was so refreshing!
Fish can be a side dish like these Chirimen-Jako, or tiny young sardines with grated fresh Daikon radish.
I never get tired with fish for dinner if fish is fresh and tasty like these.
