Japanese Green Tea

This was Japanese green tea.

My luggage from Japan is always packed with green tea. Green tea is one of things I can't easily get around where I live in the US. Green tea should taste fresh and grassy and look "green." I mean, I have seen many tea here that is supposed to be green tea but doesn't have the color of green. Strange enough. Not surprisingly, the taste of such tea is not good for me. From my latest trip to Japan, I brought back several kinds of green tea. When I see them in the drawer of the china-hatch, I feel relieved.
Our weekends usually start with green tea. I am glad J likes green tea. During weekday, I make a little pot of tea for myself. I have this handsome Nambu Tetsubin, Japanese handmade cast iron teapot that was one of the birthday gifts from my parents this year. Somewhat I think the teapot makes tea silky.
Having a cup of green tea is a precious moment. With Japanese sweets like Karukan, it would be the most delightful tea time!
