Hot Dog Buns with Soft Top Crust
The King Arthur Flour's recipe I always follow when I make hot dog or burger buns provide a tip, "Brushing buns with melted butter will give them a soft, light golden crust". Although I have baked buns with the recipe many times, I haven't adapted the tip yet to keep buns in a low-fat healthy way. However I did this time. It gave my buns soft, satiny, buttery crust! Just 1 tablespoon melted butter for 12 buns. Maybe it won't made a big difference in terms of fat level. Rather, it depends on what will be sandwiched in the buns.
When our favorite veggie wieners and low-fat cheddar cheese joined like this, 1/12 tablespoon melted butter on the top of a bun really doesn't speak much. Am I right?
