Bettys Almond & Raspberry Cake

When I saw Bettys' Almond & Raspberry Cake, I was so glad to know there was still a cake from Bettys that we haven't had yet. The cake was made with ground almonds and raspberry preserve, decorated with fondant icing and flaked almonds.

The flavor was lovely. The cake sponge was nicely moist. I didn't care about the fondant icing, though. It looked fancy but was a bit too sweet for me (and J, I guess). For this kind of cake, I will stick to Bettys Victoria Sponge Cake.
