Green Tea Shamrock Cookies
These were green tea shamrock cookies.
I baked them for St. Patrick's Day last week. I wanted to make some kind of green sweets. I made up a recipe, based on a general recipe of icebox cookie. I used a high quality of Japanese Matcha powder for the beautiful deep green color. To make the shamrock pattern, I used my experience to create Panda cookies. However the dough was a little dry and difficult to handle. I managed to integrate plain dough and green dough somehow, but I didn't know what it looked like until I cut.
Well, it wasn't too pretty, but I could do better next time if such time arrives. I baked them about 20 minutes in the oven at 325F, keeping eye on them to prevent from browning. Otherwise, the bright green tea flavor would get dull.
They tasted fine. It seemed a little too much green tea without enough sweetness for J, though. That was what I wanted on the green day!
