White Sandwich Bread with Sourdough Unfed Starter

This was white sandwich bread made with sourdough unfed starter.

According to King Arther Flour's sourdough baking tips, I can use my sourdough starter in recipes that don’t call for it. Basically the starter is a simple mixture of flour and water, so I can replace some flour and water of the any baking recipe with the starter. At the latest once-a-week-feeding-starter time, I baked white sandwich bread with extra unfed starter with our new bread machine. The bread was baked beautifully white the shape looked funny, which was the bread machine's issue, not the starter's.
The bread was soft and slightly chewy. Just like the sourdough biscuits and pizza crust, it didn't taste sour but had a nice flavor. The basic recipe of the bread came from the bread machine's guidebook. The entire loaf contained much less fat and sugar than my usual classic white bread. I will go with this healthier recipe from now on.
