Homemade Coffee Ice Cream

This was homemade coffee ice cream.

J and I were talking about ice cream flavors that we would like to make. How about coffee? J said. Here our first coffee ice cream is! I adapted a recipe of Black Coffee Ice Cream by a famous ice cream expert, Jeni Britton Bauer. I love her ice cream base is so creamy without egg custard. I didn't have whole milk, so combined one can of evaporated milk and low-fat milk. Coffee was the key. I used Zingerman's French Roast. The result was lovely deep caffè latte ice cream. Even some days later, the ice cream was creamy and well-scoopable. A few scoops in our favorite Polish dessert bowl after dinner made the summer evening cool and happy.
