This was Portuguese fish stew, or Cataplana at our friends' house!
We were luckily invited to the Portuguese feast. They are gourmet and excellent cook. Whenever we visit them, we are blessed with their homemade incredible meals like this! They have a traditional copper pan for this dish. Serving the stew from the unique pan was definitely a highlight of the dinner.
Tilefish, shrimps, squid, lobster, and scallop all were quickly cooked and steamed in the pot with yummy tomato-pepper sauce!
Dipping a piece of crusty Ciabbata in the sauce was divine...
We had a glass of Portuguese wine,
Vinho Verde, that was carefully selected to be paired with this dish! Speechless.
