Linguine with Kale Pesto

This was Linguine with Kale Pesto.

We like kale and usually pan-saute it. I wanted to do something different - Kale pesto. Since we love basil pesto very much, especially with fresh basil from our garden during summer, why not with kale? It took a good amount of time for me to decide what kind of nut I should pair with kale. I saw recipes online that used walnut, almond, or pecan. Of course, I could use simply pine nut. I picked pecan because of the sweet, maple-like taste that probably could cover kale's natural bitterness. The bitterness was gone after I quickly blanched kale, though. Anyway, I liked the pecan & kale combination. I added a little lemon juice and a pinch of J's dried red pepper along with roasted garlic, olive oil and cheese. The result was good! We enjoyed it pretty much. J thought it was just like a usual basil pesto.
