Matcha & Azuki Pound Cake

I enjoyed my recent pound cake very much and wanted to make another pound cake with different flavors. Meanwhile, I missed Japanese traditional confectionary. That's why this Matcha (Japanese green tea powder) and red "Azuki" bean cake came out the oven recently. 

The cake was lovely but I tasted it slightly salty. It must have caused by salted butter I used. Which was strange because I didn't notice any saltiness when I ate Pink Grapefruit Pound Cake that was also made with salted butter. Somehow matcha flavored cake brought the modest presence of salt in the cake to light. I should bake the cake with unsalted butter to investigate this matter. That sounds like a good excuse to make Japanese cake again.
