Brunch @ The Blue Barbakan in York

Recently we had a brunch in York! I don't remember when was the last time we visited the historical capital of Yorkshire. It was very nice to be able to come back again.

We had thought of having a brunch at Dyls again. However, while we were walking in the city, we happened to find a Polish restaurant called The Blue Barbakan. It used to be called Barbakan and located on Walmgate Street. We liked Barbakan and we were glad to see the new location that was closer to the city center. The Blue Barbakan was already open at that time. Instead of walking around the city for another hour until Dyls opens, we popped into the Polish restaurant and grabbed a window table.

I had French toasts with fresh raspberries, raspberry sauce and yogurt. The portion was huge! The dish wasn't sweet at all, which I appreciated. J had full breakfast since we had a taste for sausage. His dream came true!

After the lovely brunch, we did some shopping as well as window-shopping in the city and made our first visit to National Railway Museum! It was interesting to see a collection of classic steam locomotives.

Ah, that face was familiar to me! It was pleasure to meet the early version of the high-speed Japanese bullet train, Shinkansen in England.

It was a pretty hot day and we headed back home in the early afternoon. Still it was a wonderful day out!
