Toft Gate Barn Cafe in Pateley Bridge, revisit

It was a few months ago when we went to Pateley Bridge for a short walk. The tail ran along with river Nidd for a while. On our left side was farmers' lands. We saw several bunnies hopping here and there.

The river became a lake at some point. Good morning, duckies!

The trail went up to a hill... then, suddenly the trail disappeared! It was supposed to be a circular route, but we ended up with going back to the same path along with the river. Oh, well, the weather wasn't great and we were getting hungry. It was ok to go back to our parking spot quicker than we had planned.

On the way back, we happened to find a small open area with sandstone sculptures that we somehow missed when we passed there earlier. There were three figures called the ‘Pillars Past.’ Made by a local sculptor, they were two meters tall and represent three quintessential folk of the Yorkshire Dales - a miner (Yorkshire lead mining), a farmer (sheep farming) and a monk (Fountains Abbey). The photo below was a monk.

We quickly walked up and down on the main street of Pateley Bridge. Just checking.

For brunch, we drove to Toft Gate Barn Cafe. It's been a long time since we visited there. First, the cafe was still there. Good! Second, their outdoor seating was still available. Very good!

Unexpectedly there was a peacock at the outdoor seating area. Is he a pet of the cafe??

I had beans and toasts. It doesn't look attractive but tasted alright. J had bacon or ham sandwiches, I think.

The view from there was still wonderful. Watching the endless sky and green fields over brunch and hot tea was a real treat!
