Chocolate Yogurt Snack Cakes

These were Chocolate Yogurt Snack Cakes.

The recipe was from Smitten Kitchen but originally from David Lebovitz's The Sweet Life in Paris. I am a frequent reader of their blogs, usually keep yogurt in the refrigerator, have fine Belgium chocolate chips that Santa J brought to me, wanted to taste some tender sweets (not crunchy cookies) without stepping out in a snow day, and etc... There were many reasons to eager to try  the recipe.

Just after baked, they were very crumble and couldn't hold their shape. But after cooled, firmed up and became lovely moist next day. The cakes were delicious to eat as is. But "a nice dollop of lightly sweetened shipped cream" noted by the recipe attracted me, a whipped cream lover. I didn't have any fresh berries to add on but found Italian candied orange peals in the refrigerator.

I wasn't sure if I liked almond extract in the cakes but followed the recipe. It was OK and nothing wrong. J didn't mind it at all. But I might skip it next time. A bit of cinnamon, espresso coffee and/or orange liqueur might be my alternative choice.
